Georgina feels frazzled as she enters her room in the Harp House. She had to spend most of the morning waiting around at the cottage, thanks to the early delivery of the gorgeous canopy bed she and Poppy ordered, so her face is spackled with makeup and her clothes are probably way too nice for whatever Cassidy has planned. They’re supposed to meet in the parking lot in twenty minutes for a “surprise” outing on the farm before she has to film again.

When a chemical smell hits her nose, she halts mid outfit change. She glances toward the bathroom. “Sav? Are you in there?”

“Yeah!” Savannah yells. “One sec.”

The door opens a moment later, and Georgina scowls as she steps inside. Savannah is standing over the sink, her head partially submerged in inky water.

“Are you seriously dyeing your hair right now?”

“Yeah. Almost done.”

Georgina stares at the murky color. “Why? Blue? Black?”

“Blue-black,” Savannah says matter-of-factly, lifting her head and giving her hair a quick squeeze before wrapping it up in a towel. “Midnight Fantasy, to be more specific.”

Georgina screams internally. Because it’s not just any towel—it’s a white, fluffy, pristine Harp House towel that will almost certainly be stained blue-black for the rest of its life. She looks down and sees a faint blue rim on the sink, too. Lila probably won’t appreciate that.

“Did the urge just strike you or something?”

Savannah shrugs. “I was bored.”

Georgina bites back a complaint as Savannah rubs at a drop of dye near her hairline. At least Poppy is on her way to meet Jared and Olivia for a few hours and not here breathing in toxic fumes.

Savannah starts riffling through Georgina’s makeup next—an extremely rare occurrence—and Georgina wonders if her mentioning Sawyer Stokes’s presence in Tarragon yesterday has anything to do with the sudden makeover.

Thankfully, he seems pretty enthralled by his new wife, an adorable black-haired beauty who had beamed with excitement when he handed his phone over to Georgina to say hello. She was surprisingly supportive of him staying an extra week to help with the project, so hopefully Savannah isn’t planning something stupid.

Suddenly, Savannah gasps. “Oh, snap. You have Addies in here?”

“What?”

“These are your secret weapon, huh? Solid choice.”

Georgina’s stomach drops as Savannah holds up the bottle of Adderall and shakes it smugly. A rush of anger comes next, swiftly followed by embarrassment. “Why are you going through my stuff, Savannah—”

“Calm down, I was just looking for Chapstick—”

“Of course you don’t have your own,” Georgina snaps, grabbing the bottle.

“Chill out, Georgie. I’m not judging you—”

“They’re not even mine. They’re Lance’s.”

“Then why do you have them?”

“He left them in the apartment.”

“And you brought them all the way to Tarragon?”

Georgina searches for a not-stupid-sounding explanation, but her embarrassment ties her tongue. “I take one, like, every two months,” she finally grumbles.

“Cool, so I can have one, right? Since you obviously don’t need them.”

Georgina frowns at the hopeful look on her face.

“What, Georgie? You’re being so dramatic right now. People take these all the time.”

Georgina’s discomfort deepens
